KANSAS CITY, Mo (Reuters) ? The parents of a 10-month-old girl missing for three days have stopped cooperating with police, a spokesman said on Thursday.
Police had extensively questioned Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley, with their cooperation, about the disappearance of Lisa Irwin, last seen in her crib at 10:30 p.m. Monday in their home.
"Tonight they stopped talking to detectives," Kansas City Police Capt. Steve Young told reporters on Thursday. He said their help was beneficial and that the "door is always open" to them in the future. He would not discuss why they stopped cooperating.
Irwin and Bradley are not considered suspects and there are no other suspects in the case, Young said. The couple has twice gone before the media to plead for the safe return of the Lisa.
On Thursday morning, the couple said all three of their cell phones were taken from their home the night Lisa went missing. Irwin said he discovered his daughter was gone when he returned home from work about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.
"The windows were open and lights were on and she was nowhere to be found," Irwin said on ABC's "Good Morning America" show. "We've been going over everything in our minds. We just don't have any idea."
About 80 police officers and FBI agents conducted a thorough search of a heavily wooded area behind the home of Lisa Irwin on Thursday, said Darin Snapp, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department.
